Programming Elixir ≥ 1.6: Functional |> Concurrent |> Pragmatic |> Fun 1st Edition is a wide-spectrum but fun overview of the Elixir language. It isn't meant to replace the already available high-quality Elixir documentation online. The author highlights common pain points for people transitioning to Elixir, especially those coming from more object-oriented backgrounds. The book offers some useful open-ended exercises, but there aren't any answers or guides to the exercises. The book is readable and sort of organized, but not all exercises are designed to connect with the section/chapter read. Additionally, there is little to almost no effort to explain some subjects, and facts are much better explained in Elixir core manuals for free. The content is not in sync with the exercises, and there is no reference or applicability of the knowledge from some chapters. As a result, some key Elixir programming techniques are not found in the book, and one may refer to Elixir core documentation to solve basic challenges.
