The Doors Format: Audio CD Editorial Review
**** The *In Concert* 2CD set serves as an impressive showcase of The Doors' live performances, granting both fans and newcomers a deep dive into the band's electrifying live sound. Many reviewers praise the album for its seamless flow, capturing the essence of a concert experience while offering exceptional renditions of classic hits. While a few tracks, such as “Little Red Rooster,” do not resonate with all listeners, the majority highlight outstanding performances of songs like “Light My Fire,” “Roadhouse Blues,” and the ambitious medley that features “The Celebration of the Lizard.” What sets this album apart is its candid nature—track elements include ambient concert noise and audience interactions, enhancing the sense of being present at the actual event unlike most live recordings that omit these details. Fans especially appreciate Jim Morrison’s commanding vocals and the tight instrumentation of his bandmates, showcasing their collective talent during various high-energy moments throughout the set. The compilation not only features beloved tracks but also includes rarities and lesser-known songs that add to its value, making it an insightful addition to any rock aficionado's collection. For those who are new to The Doors’ live recordings, this album is heralded as an excellent entry point. It provides a rich listening experience while remaining more affordable than other live performances available. Some users note that while there may be stronger individual live albums out there, this collection represents a deeply satisfying way to explore The Doors' iconic sound—combining both cherished classics and rare gems. Overall, *In Concert* confirms The Doors' status as legends of rock with their distinct and innovative style. **
